Mr. Scott Davis, Minister of Music
I joined the staff of First Baptist Church as Minister of Music on January 6, 1997. Before coming to Walterboro, I served churches in Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, and upstate South Carolina. Music has been a part of my life for 30 years and counting. In that time, God has allowed me to take HIS ministry to places both inside and outside church walls. It was a privilege to find myself on a European tour with The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in 1988. In the middle 1990’s, I found myself in radio broadcasting with WYYR-AM (Spartanburg, SC) and His Radio 89.3 FM (Greenville, SC). Since coming to Walterboro, SC, I’ve found myself in a southern gospel quartet and more recently have found myself directing The Voices of Colleton Community Choir. Having had all those experiences, I believe God has primarily called me to lead HIS people in worship through a local church. There is no greater blessing for me than to lead a volunteer group of singers to proclaim God’s Word through song each Sunday. God has blessed me beyond words as I have served him through music ministry. My goal each day is to live a life of worship dedicated to proclaiming the love of Jesus to a lost and dying world.
I am married to Nancy and we have a cat, Marbles, who keeps us constantly entertained. Nancy is an avid reader and writer while I am an avid media hound.
