Music
Music is part of the proclamation ministry of First Baptist Church. Each person involved in our music ministry is a volunteer who gives of their time and talent freely so that others may hear about Jesus Christ. We are always looking for others to join us in this exciting adventure! From preschoolers to senior adults, one of the ministry groups listed below is waiting for you to say...YES! I want to be part of the First Baptist musical family! Read More
Discipleship
There is a small group Bible study class for preschoolers through senior adults each Sunday morning at 9:45 am. On Sunday and Wednesday evenings, we offer discipleship classes to enhance your spiritual growth. Frequently during the year there are opportunities for small group study within a home environment. Contact Randy Gardner, Pastor, for more information.
Outreach
First Baptist Church believes that we are commanded to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to our next door neighbors, our co-workers, our classmates, our family members, our city, our county, our state, and the entire world. The FAITH Sunday School Outreach Ministry plan has been the main element in our outreach efforts. If you would like to be more involved in outreach or know how you can become trained in the FAITH Outreach program, contact Scott Davis, Minister of Music and Outreach.
Men
Men's Ministry at First Baptist Church is about involving the men of the church in projects that affect our members as well as the community. We are part of a group that builds handicap ramps, etc. as well as participate with the Colleton Baptist Association in ongoing projects such as Christmas giving to needy recipients in Colleton County. The next men and boys rally will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Round O at 7pm on April 27, 2010. You may contact the Office Manager at First Baptist Church for more information on our Men's Ministry.
Women
First Baptist Church offers two WMU Prayer groups for women. The Tuesday Morning Prayer Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at the home of Doris Bales. The Norma Nichols Prayer Groups meets the third Monday of each month in the church conference room. We also have a Women's Book Club that meets the fourth Monday of each month in the evenings. Book selections change monthly. You may contact the Office Manager at First Baptist Church for more information on our Women's Ministry.
Senior Adults
First Baptist Church provides ministry to our Young in Heart folks aged 55 years and up! The Young in Heart meet each month on the first Monday for a covered dish luncheon featuring a guest speaker from our community at large. The first Sunday in May is set aside each year to recognize and honor our Senior Adults. Our seniors are an active bunch. Yearly conferences and day-long trips provide our seniors opportunities for inspiration, learning, and fun! Contact Randy Gardner, Pastor, for more information.
